Wayzata Investment Partners Closes Fund with $2.716 billion

Wayzata, MN - On May 17, 2013, Wayzata Investment Partners LLC completed the final close on its latest fund offering with $2.716 billion of commitments to Wayzata Opportunities Fund III.
This latest fund follows the $3.38 billion Wayzata Opportunities Fund II which closed in 2008 and the $1.25 billion Wayzata Opportunities Fund which was raised in 2006. The $2.716 billion exceeded the stated goal of $2.5 billion. The fund’s investors are largely institutional investors, the vast majority of whom have invested with Wayzata in each of the three funds. Wayzata’s alternative investment funds focus on opportunities in undervalued debt, equity and special situation assets.
Wayzata’s Managing Partner Patrick Halloran said, “We are excited that our limited partners who have once again chosen to entrust our experienced team with capital. While we topped our fundraising target, we were careful not to stretch the organization and attempted to fit the fund size to the current and foreseeable market opportunity.”
